A set of five novelty silver plated cocktail bar measures in the form of thimbles. These are a great way to add a little humour and detail to the home bar. Each measure is made in the form of a knitting thimble, worn on the thumb or finger and used to push the needle through. The repetitive nature of sewing created the need to protect the finger from hours of pushing the fairly pointed back end of the needle through. Each measure, or jigger, has the saying; "Just a Thimbleful" engraved into each piece. This is a funny play on the fact that a real thimble is in fact very small! Each jigger is marked on the base to denominate how much content can be measured for various cocktails; 1, 1 1/2, 2, 5 ounces and a very large drinking cup size comprise the set of five. If so desired, they neatly stack into each other to be stored away. This is very rare to find all of these sizes, especially the large cup size. Made in England, circa 1950's by P. H. Vogel and Company.
